Rankspiral generates long-form, SEO-optimized articles that are structured to rank on both traditional search engines and AI-powered search like ChatGPT and Perplexity.

The Generation Pipeline

Every article goes through a 7-stage pipeline that takes approximately 8-10 minutes:

1. Web-Powered Research

Before writing a single word, Rankspiral researches the topic using live web search:

• Analyzes search intent (informational, commercial, comparison, listicle)
• Finds semantic keywords and related terms
• Gathers "People Also Ask" questions
• Discovers competitor products, authoritative sources, and content gaps
• Identifies what's currently ranking for the keyword

2. Outline

Based on the research, an outline is generated with:

• SEO-optimized title
• Structured sections with subheadings (H2, H3, H4)
• Key points for each section
• Content format per section (prose, listicle, comparison table, FAQ)
• Estimated word counts per section

If Outline Review is enabled on your project, you can edit the outline before the article is written. This is useful if you want to guide the structure.

3. Writing

The full article is written in a single pass using the complete outline and research data. The writing includes:

• Natural, human-like prose in your configured tone and brand voice
• Proper heading hierarchy (H2, H3, H4)
• Lists, comparison tables, and formatting where appropriate
• Your product offerings naturally woven into relevant sections

4. Style Pass

A dedicated AI pass restructures paragraph breaks for natural reading rhythm — splitting impactful sentences into standalone paragraphs, varying paragraph lengths, and improving scannability. No content is changed, only where paragraph breaks fall.

5. Images

Rankspiral generates a featured image and up to 2 section images using gpt-image-1.5. You can choose from preset styles (flat minimal, photorealistic, illustrated, dark cinematic, watercolor) or write a fully custom style prompt. You can also upload a reference image that the AI uses to match your brand's visual style.

6. AI Link Insertion

A specialized AI pass scans the finished article and intelligently inserts links:

• Product links — Links to your offerings at contextually relevant phrases
• Internal links — Links to your previously published articles
• Authority links — Links to authoritative external sources discovered during research

Links are never placed in headings, and competitor links are automatically marked as nofollow. All external links open in a new tab.

7. Post-Processing

After all content stages, Rankspiral automatically:

• Generates meta title and description
• Injects FAQ schema markup (JSON-LD) for Google rich results
• Auto-links product names in comparison tables
• Runs Retrolink to find internal linking opportunities across your existing content

Article Statuses

Each article moves through these statuses:

• Draft — Created but not yet generated
• Outline — Outline generated, waiting for review (if enabled)
• Writing — Article is being written
• Review — Article is complete and ready for your review
• Published — Sent to your CMS

Editing

Every article can be edited in the built-in rich text editor. You can change headings, add links, insert images, and rewrite sections. The editor auto-saves as you type and includes AI-powered inline editing tools for quick improvements.
